Its Playoff Time Baby!!!, Western Conference

Alooohaaaaa, its me, d douchebag has returned to give you nightmare with my weird kind of writing style. Anyway, I'm about to continue my insight review on 2011 NBA playoff, this time is Western Conference. Some people has been saying that Western Conference is more competitive than Eastern. However, I have to disagree with that. I think the most exciting talents in NBA are mostly doing their things in the East although I have to admit that the defending champion is currently residing in the West. So, its pretty much balance in the end. Alrity then, without further delay, lets get this prediction done.

LA Lakers vs New Orlean Hornets

By the time I'm writing this blog, the series is tied at 1-1 scoreline. What surprised me is the Hornets, which I predicted would not give any problems to Lakers, has been playing a quick and efficient basketball game. Chris Paul has been enjoying this series while scoring quite number of points along the way. On the opposite end, another Paul (well, its actually Pau), Pau Gasol is having horrible and torrid time during this year playoff so far. If he keeps playing below his standard, Lakers might need to go to seven games to outlast the Hornets. So, my prediction is Lakers will regroup and show their quality as a defending champion, while Hornets will try to hurt them in using their quick and fast yet efficient movement on the court. LA Lakers in 6.

San Antonio Spurs vs Memphis Grizzlies

The second NBA best team this year has been struggling to overcome this grizzlies team. The series remain tied at 1-1. So far, Spurs has yet to excell against the Grizzlies since the regular season. Fortunately, Manu Ginobilli and Tim Duncan is slowly recovering from their respective injuries on time to inspire their goal in winning NBA title this year. On the other hand, Grizzlies that has younger rosters compared to their counterpart, will never surrender without a fight. This is very interesting matchup, but based on their experience, San Antonio Spurs will once again come up on top in Game 7.

Dallas Maverick vs Portland Trail Blazers

This might be last chance for Dallas Maverick team to win at least one NBA championship before their players go into retirement. Dallas with its vast experienced players would be too much to handle by this inconsistent Portland team. Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidds, Shawn Marion and former sixth man of the year Jason Terry are not just ordinary veteran players, they have good combination of talents and mentality to carry this Dallas team to progress through this series. Portland with their younger talents such as Brandon Roy and Gerrard Wallace are remains doubtful to match the more experience Dallas Maverick team. In the end, I will say Dallas will beat Portland 4-2.

Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma Thunder

There are some great expectations when we start talking about this exciting Oklahoma Thunder team. They almost caused an upset last year, so they are looking to move further this year. Kevin Durant and Russel Brook will lead this young Thunders to pass the improving Demver team. This will be a tight contest between these two teams but I can only see one clear winner in this series. Thunder in 5.

There you have it. I might be wrong in one or two cases, but I still think experience will prevail instead of speed and power. Overall, we are about to witness exciting basketball games in this year playoff and hopefully, some few surprises in the process. Douchebag out.

Its Playoff Time, Baby !!!!!

Here we are again, the NBA regular season has just ended about a week ago, and now we are going to witness 16 elite teams in NBA, outwit, outsmart and outdo one another in their quest to conquer the most coveted prize in the league, the Larry O'Brien NBA Championship Trophy. I've been an NBA fan since I was still in Junior High and I really admired Scottie Pippen when he was still playing for Chicago Bulls. Why? well, despite the fact that he was always be Michael Jordan's sidekick during his career, I like him because of his ability to dominate his opponent and his versatility in every basketball game he played. Anyhow, time has changed, but the game hasn't changed that much (well some people might disagree with this, but who cares), I mean look at Phil Jackson, he is still using the same old school strategy, which is called "Triangle Offence". I guess that thing will never get old, doesn't it? Alrite then, lets talk about this year playoff and the chances of each team to get through to the Final......

Before I start, let me remind you that I'm not going to review all the stats, the facts or even go through the strategy that each team might apply to advance to the next round. I'm just going to review all playoff games, which are based on my limited basketball knowledge and instinct. On the second thought, maybe I should begin with who's goin to be in the Eastern Conference Semifinal before predicting something that might not happen in the future.

Eastern Conference

Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers

At the moment, the heat is leading the series by 2-0 and I don't think the sixers will be able to catch and put a dent on their ambition to reach the Eastern Conference Final. Miami Heat's big three are playing like a team. Lebron James, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade seem to know their roles in the team these days. With the help of veteran players like Mike Bibby and Zydrunas Ilgauskas, I think they have a big chance to win this series in four games. However, Philadelphia 76ers is not a basketball team from an amateur league. They still have young talents such as Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner at their disposal. So, I expect them to win one or two games at home before succumbing to the on-fire Miami Heat team.

Final Score: 4-2 Miami Heat

Boston Celtics vs New York Knicks

Boston is still leading this series by 1-0. However, people is still behind the Knicks to create an upset. Since Carmelo Anthony joined New York Knicks some time after the all star weekend, Knicks has been performing pretty well. Their big three, Chauncey Billups, Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire are playing with hunger and drive to prove that they are as good as other teams. On the other hand, the experienced Celtic team will not and never go down easily, even when they are facing the end of their road. People like Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo will use their vast experience in handling everything that Knicks throw at them and deliver a killer blow to wrap the series with no fuss. Knicks is good and talented but Celtics has experience. No Perkins, No O'Neal, No chance. Knicks in six.

Orlando Magic vs Atlanta Hawks

Surprisingly, Atlanta is leading this series by 1-0. Dwight Howard was unlucky to be on the losing side in last game despite scoring 46 points. I agree when all the observers said others need to step up to support him. Basketball is not an individual game, asked Michael Jordan before he got the right supporting cast next to him. Atlanta Hawks, led by Joe Johnson, is not a consistent team that will likely to go through to the NBA final, either this year or next year (no offense Atlanta's fans). So, whatever happens, I still can not see how Atlanta Hawks winning this series and get their revenge this year (they was swept by Orlando Magic last year). If Dwight Howard doesnt get help from his colleagues, Magic will go on vacation earlier than they expected Atlanta will work hard but inconsistent remains an issue for this team. Magic will dispatch Atlanta in six.

Chicago Bulls vs Indiana Pacers

Chicago Bulls is back. Not only they have achieved the best record in the regular season, their marquee player, Derrick Rose has become a front runner to win NBA MVP this season. In fact, they are leading the Pacers by 2-0 at this moment. I don't think Pacers could overturn the deficit, well probably they might win in the next game and that's it. Despite of sluggish play accusation, Chicago Bulls is still too strong and compact to be defeated by inexperienced Indiana Pacers. Danny Granger and Co. might have to execute a perfect game plan to dispose the current best team in NBA.

Final Score: Chicago 4, Pacers 1

Ok, since I have been really busy with my daily activities, I will continue my playoff prediction some time around later (Im not sure when, but it should be a day after tomorrow). Next time, we will discuss what's going to happen in Western Conference as more shock results are looming around the corner. Adios for now, douchebag signing off.
